Headin' Out
This painting was done in oils on a stretched canvas. I had a dear friend, a true cowboy in every way, and I asked him if I could follow him around for a day as he worked the ranch. The first thing on the list was to saddle his favorite horse before starting his chores. I call this style an "Oil Sketch," as it cameos only the action and not the background. I named it "Headin' Out," and It makes a great companion piece with "Checking the Bridle."
