Checking the Bridle

This painting was done in oils on stretched canvas. My dear friend, a true cowboy, agreed to let me follow him around for a day, taking photos of all the interactions with his horse and all the chores he did. One of the first things was "Checking the Bridle," which I decided would make a great painting. I call this an "Oil Sketch," since it cameos the man and his horse and hazes out the background landscape. This painting makes a great companion piece with "Headin' Out."
